Dr. Jossan grew up on the Central Coast of California, in a small town called Pacific Grove, known for its monarch butterflies and sea otters. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology and Music from Pomona College (Claremont, CA) and her medical degree from Chicago Medical School (Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Chicago, IL). She completed her pediatric residency in California at Children’s Hospital Oakland (now known as UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland) and her pediatric endocrinology fellowship at University of California, San Francisco. She is double-boarded by the American Board of Pediatrics in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology.
Before joining HealthPark Pediatrics, Dr. Jossan worked as a Pediatric Urgent Care Physician and a Pediatric Endocrinologist in California. In 2018 her husband’s work took her to Sweden, where she learned Swedish and earned her Swedish medical license, a process that included a stint in the Pediatric Endocrinology department of Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. Her husband’s work eventually brought her to North Carolina, a happy coincidence as her extended family hails from just over the state line in South Carolina.
Dr. Jossan finds joy in taking care of patients and their families and has a special interest in problems of the endocrine system such as growth disorders, thyroid illness, and pubertal concerns.
In her free time, Dr. Jossan enjoys playing the violin, reading, traveling, and collecting pressed pennies with her two children.
